… performing and directing in theatres from Chicago to Southern California while teaching a range of theatre courses at the university, college and community college levels. For the past 9 years, I was a full-time faculty member and Head of the Acting Program at Mt. San Antonio College where I was granted tenure in 2019 and served as Department Chair. I've just begun a position as Assistant Professor of Theater at California Lutheran University.
As an actor and director I’ve worked in a wide range of styles and genre including farce, absurdist, Pulitzer Prize winning scripts, Shakespeare, musical theatre, theatre for young audiences and world premiere plays. I have also worked as Production Coordinator on the independent film Using with Phenom Features and performed as a Voice Over Artist. Beyond acting and directing, since returning to Southern California after 11 years studying, teaching and working in the Midwest, I have enjoyed a great variety of theatrical opportunities and professional affiliations such as KCACTF Region 8 Circuit Coordinator, Company Member with Modjeska Shakespeare Players, Orange County Theater Guild Representative and working at the Laguna Playhouse as an Education Associate.
I have performed throughout Chicago and Southern California for the past 23 years. Most recently I performed the role of Elsa in STAGEStheatre’s production of The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940 at the Brea Curtis Theater. Other STAGEStheatre’s productions include Iago in All The World’s a Grave, Lucienne in Monique, Veronica in Family Matters and Jaqueline in Don’t Dress for Dinner. Other SoCal roles include Rosalind in Alchemy Theatre’s As You Like It, Chris in Rumors with Costa Mesa Playhouse and Avery Bly in Sin with The Garage Theatre of Long Beach. Chicago favorites include Maria Merelli in Lend me a Tenor, Becca in Rabbit Hole; Helga Ten Dorp in Deathtrap at Metropolis Performing Arts Centre, and the world premieres of Fraternal Instinct and Cold Cold Feet with Diamante Productions.
As an educator, in addition to teaching multiple levels of Acting, I have enjoyed teaching a wide range of classes in my sub-specialties including, Voice & Diction, Movement and Stage Combat for the Actor, Shakespeare, Chekhov, Dramatic Literature, Theater History and Children’s Theater and Directing. I have been fortunate to teach a wide diversity of student demographics and have become increasingly devoted to equity, diversity and inclusion practices in my classroom and department.
